Whiplash
Whiplash is an injury that occurs when the neck is subjected to a sudden acceleration-deceleration force, most commonly during a motor vehicle collision. This rapid movement can strain the muscles, ligaments, joints, discs, and other soft tissues of the neck. Symptoms may develop immediately or gradually over the first several days after the injury and can involve not only the neck, but also the head, shoulders, upper back, and arms.
