Tendinopoathy
Tendinopathy is a common cause of persistent pain involving tendons that have been exposed to repetitive stress or overuse. It can affect many areas of the body, including the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, Achilles tendon, and foot. A thorough examination helps determine whether the tendon is the primary source of pain and identify movement patterns or mechanical factors that may be contributing to ongoing symptoms.
SYMPTOMS
Pain with activity or repetitive movement
Tenderness over the affected tendon
Morning stiffness or pain after periods of rest
Pain when lifting, gripping, walking, or climbing stairs
Weakness or reduced endurance
Symptoms that improve with warming up but return with activity
Persistent pain lasting weeks or months
TREATMENT
Chiropractic treatment to improve joint mobility when appropriate
Electrical Stimulation and Therapeutic Ultrasound
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (Graston Technique®)
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) for appropriate chronic tendon conditions
Progressive strengthening and tendon-loading exercises
Education on activity modification and gradual return to activity
